Samantha Newham, LPC, ATC graduated from Grand Canyon University with a B.S. in Athletic Training as well as a M.S. in Health Psychology and a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Her work experience includes being an athletic trainer for five years, allowing her to see the importance of treating not only an athlete’s physical injury, but their mind as well.
She has worked in private practice treating youth and adults with depression, anxiety, and trauma, as well as groups for substance use/abuse, domestic violence, and anger control. She believes in treating a person as a whole to help them achieve their goals in life.
Samantha uses an integrated approach to individual counseling as she believes in treating the client as a whole rather than just the symptoms by using cognitive behavioral theories to determine the why behind the behaviors for long term healing.
Together, we will develop a plan to change the behaviors while also understanding the why behind them.
